Who is responsible for your data

What we collect, and when

• When you order: name, delivery address, email address and phone number.
• When you pay: nothing. Card details are entered on our payment processor's encrypted page. We receive a confirmation, the last four digits and the card type, never the full number or the security code.
• When you email or call: the content of your message and the order it relates to.
• When you browse: anonymous traffic data such as pages viewed, approximate region and device type.

Why we hold it

To take payment, pack and ship your order, answer your questions, process refunds, keep the accounting records U.S. law requires of us, and see which pages of this site are useful. That is the complete list. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not enrich your record with data bought from brokers.

Who else sees it

Only the companies that make an order work: our payment processor, our fulfilment warehouse and delivery carriers, our email provider and our accountants. Each one gets the minimum needed to do its job, and none of them may use your details for their own marketing. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone, for any price.

Marketing email

Ordering puts you on our customer email list, which we use for order updates and an occasional product note. Every message carries a one click unsubscribe, and unsubscribing never affects your guarantee or your ability to order again.

Cookies

This site sets a small number of functional cookies so the package you select and the order bar you dismiss behave sensibly, plus anonymous analytics. There are no third party advertising trackers and no cross site pixels. Your browser settings can block or clear all of them, and the store still works if you do.

How long we keep records

Order and tax records are kept for seven years, as U.S. accounting rules require. Support emails are kept for two years. Marketing consent records are kept until you unsubscribe, plus a short period afterwards so we can prove the unsubscribe was honoured.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] from the address on your order and we will respond within 30 days. Where an order or tax record must legally be retained we will tell you which part we cannot delete and why.

Children

Burntide is sold to adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and if we learn that a minor has submitted details we delete them.

Security and changes

Traffic to this site is encrypted in transit, access to order records is limited to staff who need it, and payment data never touches our systems. If this notice changes we update the date at the top of the page; material changes are announced by email to customers on our list.
